What’s your earliest musical memory?
This one is really hard question. When i was baby, my mother put me to sleep with playing music to me. When she was pregnant and went to the rock concert, i banged along with the drum solo in her belly. And she took me to concerts when i was a toddler. So i literally grew up with music around me.
What was the first record you got/bought?
When i was a teenager, then i listened a lot of hip-hop and rap. I think first one was Wu Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang(36 Chambers)
What is your favourite listening medium and why?
Lately i’ve been using Spotify. I’ts just the easiest way. You have everything there. I rarely buy physical copies anymore. I guess this is the reality nowadays and i go with it.
One album you’d like to hear re-recorded/mixed/mastered/done differently?
Daaamn! I Don’t know! Maybe Deftones White Pony. Not because it needs it, But just because it is one of the most influential bands and most influential albums for me and would be interesting to hear how it would sound to todays standards.
How much do you listen to your own records?
Almost not at all. I’m just so much in this, that i don’t feel the need to listen to them. It happens very rarely and mostly when somebody else is playing it at some party or whatnot.
Is there a genre/thing that you wish would see a second coming? Is there a combination of sounds/styles you’d like to hear that hasn’t been done yet?
Uhhhh! I don’t believe in second comings. And most probably all the combinations have already been done. There is so much music in this world today, that I guess everything you can imagine has been done by somebody. But lately I’ve been enjoying some jazz combined music.
How do you feel about the current state of music production?
It’s crazy. There are so many possibilities. Everybody can go crazy at their homes with all the digitalization of the music production. I believe there are no limits and it’s great. I feel that there is no wrong or right anymore and with music production it just becomes all about your personal taste.
What do you think will be the listening medium/environment in let’s say 10 years from now? Do you think digital will reign supreme or do you think there’ll be a physical medium that will catch up?
Digital medium will be dominating, But i believe that physical copies stay even after 10 years. But it sure will be rare for somebody to buy physical copies. It stays for the diehard fans.
Any hot new bands out there we should check out?
